About

As an American having lived in France for all of my adult life I started http://www.whatscookinginfrance.com as the  perfect way for you to get to know the French and France… when we sold our home in 2019 and moved to Bordeaux/Begles I changed it to What’s Cooking in Bordeaux… but my e-mail has remained the same: whatscookinginfrance@gmail.com. Bruno passed on last august but we both wanted me to continue our wonderful project of truly welcoming guests in the tradition of sharing our home and my knowledge and not being just a rental … as Airbnb most often seems to do. So I now propose my two family guest rooms for a minimum of two nights…. to have enough time to enjoy Bordeaux. And, of course, to take a class with one of our young chefs. I organize wine tastings, pastry workshops, cooking classes and dinners with passionate young experts in our home kitchen as well in the professional kitchens of good friends of mine. Loic, who does artisan canning and preserving of French favorites just down the street from me ( https://atelierlagrandebouche.com ) as well as my American friends Chef Daniel and his Oenologue wife, Erica, who propose professional classes in English or French ( https://www.thegastronome.fr )… only a 15 minute tram ride from the house to the center of Bordeaux!

And having worked many years in French culturel affaires I’ll let you know know what you shouldn’t miss in Bordeaux while your here… help you get tickets or give you the adresse of a gallery or take you to one of my favorite artist’s studio.
