Bienvenue – Welcome

After 30 years of welcoming guests to stay in my country house and discover a French-American life style through cours de cuisine et vins, What’s Cooking in France has moved to Bordeaux! Following a hiatus while I shifted from the countryside to the city, I’m back in the B&B business — assuming you can call it a business when the job entails greeting friends, both old and new! I look forward to sharing my new home, having you enjoy its upstairs guest quarters  and taking time around the breakfast table to help you plan for your day.

As always, I want to help you discover the French lifestyle and find the activities that fit your interests and the season’s options without you having keep your nose in a guidebook. From opera to soccer, I can order your tickets; from artist studios to boutique shopping, I can share all the good addresses. And whether you want to hunt mushrooms with an expert or simply enjoy eating them in one our favorite restaurants, I’ll point you in the right direction.

For gourmands, What’s Cooking continues to offer private hands-on classes in French cuisine and has expanded the options to include making pastries and pâtés — all with local chefs, either in my home kitchen or sometimes in the chef’s kitchen. A bientôt!
